The National Motor Racing Museum celebrates the rich history of Australian motor sport, with a particular focus on Bathurst and Mount Panorama as the spiritual home of Australian motor racing.
The stories of drivers and events from the 1920s to the present are told through original trophies, race suits, leathers, race footage and photographs.
See many of the dominant machines that ran in Australian touring car, open wheeler, rally, motorcycle and speedway races. Take in one of our ever-changing exhibitions and experience the spectacular Immersive Room which gives visitors a taste of the speed, sound and excitement of racing at Mount Panorama.
Celebrating 100 years of Ford in Australia, this special exhibition includes the FG Falcon driven by Steven Richards in 2009 and 2010 with Ford Performance Racing; and the EF Falcon built for Tony Longhurst’s brand new Castrol Ford team for the 1995 Australian Touring Car Championship.
This special exhibition at the National Motor Racing Museum looks at Nissan’s motor racing history, and features both Bathurst winning GT-Rs as well as a 1988 Le Mans sportscar and touring cars from 1984 through to a 2013 Nissan Altima Supercar.

The Immersive Room brings the sounds, sights and excitement of motor racing to life.
Filmed using our replica race cars on a closed Mount Panorama track, the experience surrounds you with the roar of the engines and the pace of the race.
Our collection includes 17 cars, 5 motorcycles and outfits, plus some 4,700 items ranging from programs, images and ephemera to trophies, helmets and racing suits.
Alongside this, the museum displays over 100 racing cars and motorcycles, plus trophies and photographs, thanks to dozens of private individuals and commercial groups such as Triple Eight Race Engineering, Bowden’s Own, Garry Rogers Motorsport, Brad Jones Racing, the Australian Racing Drivers Club, Craig Lowndes, Suzuki Australia, HONDA MPE, Holden Motorsport, Mazda Racing and Volvo Australia, who have all generously loaned exhibits.
Donated by Honda, this Lego model by Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught features over 150,000 bricks, and took eight builders 650 hours to create.
There’s all things Honda, from the then Honda Civic Type R, to first generation Honda Civics, motorcycles, lawnmowers and whipper-snippers, along with plenty of other fun details to discover – even a few motorised Esky riding race fans!
