It’s time to play, explore and enjoy Museum Playtime early learning programs designed to encourage children to explore their world, the museum collections and stories through enquiry based learning, hands-on activities, objects, storytelling and play.
How do we know dinosaurs ever existed? What do we know about how dinosaurs lived and what lived alongside them?
Sitting in the shadow of the T. rex, students will see real dinosaur eggs, dinosaur skeletons and fossils as well as learn about the planet we live on, in a program designed for Early Stage 1 to Stage 1 students.
How do minerals form? How do we use natural resources? Can our natural resources run out? How has our planet changed over time? What is a fossil? How do we know about past life on Earth?
In a program designed for Stage 2-3 students will:
Evolution and Extinctions. What lessons can we learn from the past to help us plan for the future?
Through tours of the fossil gallery, students will gain an understanding of how the fossil record provides evidence of how present day organisms have evolved, and how the fossil record can be used to determine the changes that have occurred over time.

Every showcase includes information about significant events in the history of life on Earth, as well as maps of the Earth and the geological timeline.
